How it all started

We knew each other when we were growing up in Hervey Bay, Qld. We went to the same high school, but we were in different groups and never really knew much of each other.

It wasn't until a year after high school that we got stuck talking to each other at a night club in Hervey Bay. After a couple of days of talking to each other we decided to pursue a relationship and here we are today.

The proposal

On the 01/07/2007, we were staying on Bribie Island for the weekend, the beach was completely deserted for the whole weekend. When I decided to take Amanda for a walk along the beach on Sunday afternoon, every man, his dog, and fishing basket were on the beach.

I was nervous, I think Amanda noticed, and we walked down the beach for about half an hour. We were still surrounded by fishermen, kids and dogs so I had to suck it up and ask her soon.

On the way back, there was a spot on the beach (about 100m long) where there wasn't a person and I nervously asked the big question, thankfully she said 'yes' as I was crapping myself.
